MSU-Bottineau Nursing Training
9/1/2005

For the first time in MSU-Bottineau’s history the college is offering a Registered Nursing Program on their campus this fall. The 2005/2006 two-year Registered Nursing Program with 8 students began on August 23rd. The Practical Nursing Program at MSU-Bottineau finished their first year with eight graduates and began the 2005/2006 one-year Practical Nursing Program with 13 students.

The 2005/2006 Registered Nursing Program and Practical Nursing Program is a cooperative venture between five North Dakota Community Colleges and two hospitals. The Nursing Programs use resources from the campuses of Williston State College, Lake Region State College, Bismarck State College, and Minot State University-Bottineau with much of the student instruction being delivered by interactive video. MSU-Bottineau offers their Practical Nursing Program to Trinity Hospital, Minot, The Heart of America Center in Rugby, and Fort Berthold Community College through IVN.

The seven-member Nursing Program cooperative venture for the 2005-2006 college school year has registered a total of 72 LPN students and 40 RN students.

The field of nursing is currently an occupation that is in demand of health care personnel. MSU-Bottineau is very excited to offer the nursing programs. This is a new adventure and a great opportunity for us to help fill the nursing shortage in the state of North Dakota.
