| Kent & Kathleen Brackel of KB Jewelers |
Kent Brackel opened the doors to KB Jewelers January 1, 1977. He was not quite 21 at the time. His father and uncle were watchmakers and jewelers, which gave him encouragement to follow in their footsteps. When Kent's uncle passed away suddenly, Kent bought his equipment and started his career in jewelry, watch and clock repair. He trained in Minneapolis and is a licensed North Dakota watchmaker.
the store consisted of fine jewelry and gifts. He married his wife Kathleen in July of 1983, she works full time in the store with him. In 1987 they added a Book & Bible store in the back room that was once a china room. The book sales have grown every year since it was started.
In 1990 they bought Denny's Trophies, which worked out very well since Kent had many years of experience engraving. That part of the business continues to grow each year also. Kent currently does awards for 4 surrounding schools and also does the awards for 4 county fairs.
Each year KB Jewelers has added new gift lines to entice their customers. Their staff has a flare for decorating, and they are proud to have such a beautiful store in a small community.
Kent keeps very busy repairing rings and jewelry along with watch repair, clock repair and cleaning. He has cleaned and repaired clocks from all corners of the USA.
Stop in and visit KB Jewelers at 206 South Main Street, Hettinger, ND 58639 or phone 701-567-2358. "We look forward to serving you in our fine store!".
