and creative partnerships that improve the region’s
economy.
Mission
Statement
The mission of Southwest Rural Economic Area Partnership
is to utilize the U.S.D.A. REAP designation to alleviate out-migration,
to increase job and business opportunities, and to encourage partnerships
for economic development.
Goals
and Objectives
- Utilize the REAP designation to alleviate out-migration
- Extend
USDA REAP zone classification beyond 2005
- Maintain
SW REAP Board with active representation from each county
in the zone and the Fort Berthold Indian Reservation
- Create
partnerships with five other national REAP Zones
- Be
an active member of the REAP Investment Board
- Be
an active member of the Champion REAP Alliance
- Maintain
USDA REAP Zone classification
- Maintain
organizational structure to support regional development
- Increase job and business opportunities
- Identify
and support deficiencies and opportunities in current economy
- Support
and encourage entrepreneurship and quality of life
- Encourage and participate in partnerships for economic development
that alleviate out-migration
- Support Southwest Developers Group
- Support strategic planning in the region
- Support regionally focused project
