(Center of North America Coalition for Rural Development)
REAP Zone consists of Towner, Benson, Pierce, Bottineau,
Rolette and McHenry Counties and the Spirit Lake and
Turtle Mountain Indian Reservations.
Established
in 1995, CONAC is one of 2 USDA pilot revitalization
Rural Economic Area Partnership (REAP) zones created
to address critical issues related to out-migration,
constraints in economic activity and growth, low density
settlement patterns, stagnant or declining employment
and isolation that has led to disconnection from markets,
suppliers and centers of information and finance.
