Burke-Divide:
Strategic Plan
Goal #1
- A minimum
of four agricultural plants by the year 2005, and ten advanced
technology manufacturers or service based industries that each
employ three or more people by the year 2005.
- Conduct a
scan of the agricultural commodities, and advanced technology
manufacturer and service based industries which could be developed
within the Burke-Divide area.
- Budget, appropriate
and secure funds for organizational assistance to develop or recruit
these processors.
- Support or
develop the infrastructure needed for processing or manufacturing.
- Work closely
with equivalent Canadian organizations to secure necessary raw
products, capital investments and marketing assistance.
Goal #2
- Population
growth to 20,000+ in the 2 counties within 10 years, and a combines
school K-12 population of 1500+.
- Provide highest
quality education, health care, public safety, strong sense of
community.
- Create an
entrepreneur recruitment program.
- Participate
in Project Back Home to recruit former residents.
- Target young
families.
- Develop a
subcommittee to address the maintenance of our quality of education,
public safety, and health care in light of such a huge increase
in population.
Goal #3
- International
zone encompassing trade, health care, county and other governmental
and industry regulations by the year 2003.
- Subcommittee
of Burke-Divide to work to create coordinated effort in the geographic
area.
Goal #4
- Average household
income exceeds the U.S. average by 2008.
- Establish
targets in our recruitment and development that fully support
income levels.
